First toon    Previous toon    Next toon    Today's toon
Toonbots v2.0 gets off to the usual start. The metacartoonist reveals the bare-bones essence of the previous episode; the strong vertical progression of the Pokey-reminiscent panel structure in and of itself implies the existence of a narrative, and the astute reader can easily discern that the actual existence of any specific narrative would necessarily eliminate all the other possible narratives. The ineluctible conclusion is that by rendering the actual narrative, the metacartoonist would be destroying a vast body of literature; this would be tantamount to a criminal act dwarfing the burning of the Library at Alexandria. Better to let potential narratives lie.

This magnificent episode is the first public output of the Toon-o-Matic Take 2. It is not a 100% whole-cloth effort; after six years I really don't understand a lot of that code any more, so it's best to snip out the bits I like and preserve them in amber.

Happy birthday to Lord Emsworth.
