Connected!

I persuaded one of the neighbors across the parking lot to set up a WiFi access point near their window. I hang my USB WiFi adaptor in *my* window, and lo! the Internet is at my beck and call. I have to avoid large downloads/uploads when they're using the Internet. But I'm *ON* fricking *LINE*. At long last.

So -- God willing and time permitting -- maybe this unnamed hiatus can come to a well-deserved end at last and -- same caveats -- maybe just MAYBE I can start work on SCUMF so there will never ever be a hiatus ever again. Ever. Ad aeternum, as God intended, it's Toonbots all the way down. And that's a long way down.

lucky dog....

i've really got to get my wireless setup working again. except i'm afraid if i do, i'll spend the weekends staring at the computer, as well as the weeks.

....of course, if i get the wireless working again, i can at least sit _outside_ and stare at the computer...

Oh, yeah, real lucky. I have a reliable connection for the first time since March. Woo. You all should be so lucky.

*wolverines back away slowly for fear of being hit by lightning*

How much heartbreak, false hope raising, and general spiteful manipulation can you inflict on your poor deluded fanbase, Michael? Even with a "maybe" to make such a bold claim?

Though I suppose that means if you do get SCUMF working, we have written proof of your statement and you can't try to weasel out and say "I never even suggested the slight possibility of no hiatus!" (i.e. your ret-conning of wolverine intentions).

................

It's good to have you back again, you lovably misanthropic jerk you.

I'll suffer no back-talk from the likes of you, Mr. Twigg!

then I shall say, "I never even suggested the slight possibility of no hiatus." Of course. Jeez. Inconsistent I'm not!

It's good to be back, Emsworth. It's good to be back. For certain values of "back", of course. Seriously -- I'm way busy, but since the younger child is now going to school there is a teeny bit more time in the day.

But we're still getting the new household organized, and of course due to his health problems, we have a greater than normal amount of cleaning and cooking to do. (Try planning and executing a healthy, yet moderate-protein diet for a six-year-old sometime. Now try it someplace where they don't have organic food or, indeed, much produce at all unless you count weird Caribbean root vegetables you don't recognize... Except, of course, we're starting to. Calabash, for instance, makes a great squash for any Hungarian squash recipe.)

Anyway, I'm getting things a little under control here, and soon should have time for extracurricular activities. So -- wish me luck.

Connecteder!

Except that the local cable company sucks and WiFi across the parking lot in reinforced-concrete buildings is spotty at best and I'm in a financial crisis and stuff.

But today I got my DSL installed. So now I'm more online than yesterday. Maybe there's hope.
