The metacartoonist uses the superficial banality of the previous episode as a convenient
springboard into a fresh volley of fourth-wall drollity. The result admittedly lacks the ethereal
sublimity of giant spider pirates, but nevertheless has a salacious effect
on the overall illumination of the subtle interplay between sign and signified
which is the bedrock-level metabasis upon which the construction of any humor
must perforce be based.
