The feint at classical allusion followed up by a thorough redirection into 70's pop culture is of course itself the joke in this episode; the metacartoonist is ridiculing the sublimation of the classical impulse towards edification into the present desire for ever-new venues of entertainment or even infotainment -- the underlying message being an intentionally muddled exhortation to regain our classical roots, belying the ineluctability of the trend towards floccinaucinihilipilification and thereby furthering supercalifragilisticity and even the expialidociality of ever-longer words of Latinate derivation.
