Yeah doggie, things sure are pickin up now. This last couple of episodes are bringin back memories, I can tell ya. Pretty soon we're goin to be laughing about how the Shanks mowed the hay in the rain again! (Best way to break a drought is to have Shank get the mower out.)

Or, if you prefer, the metacartoonist is drawing upon the rich texture of American rural conversational memes in a skillful evocative of bygone simpler times, in the process of which he comments on his own laggardly pace in toon updates and simultaneously manages to twist the entire metarepresentation of the plot line into the usual Toonbots pretzel. And he hasn't even half started yet!
