First toon    Previous toon    Next toon    Today's toon
The metacartoonist returns to the fount of all humor: politics. The fact that this episode is largely a template copy of the last is itself a subtle jab at web comics, a softly understated jab at the genre, and to imagine that this was anything less than fully and intensionally planned would be to fall into the trap of accepting the surface explanation at the cost of the deeper humor that truly savvy readers would take as a matter of course.

The script used to make this toon:
<cartoon height="800" width="600" rowformat="1">

  <character name="lenin"/>
  <character name="dubya" aspect="2"/>
  <caption location="top middle" fgcolor="red">Hey, Mao!</caption>

<panel>
   <caption location="top left" fgcolor="red">Yeah, Len?</caption>

<panel>
  <character name="dubya" aspect="4"/>
   <caption location="top middle" fgcolor="red">What's the difference between an orange?</caption>
</panel>
<panel>
   <caption location="top left" fgcolor="red">Two telephone poles, because most<br/>
of us don't have doors, of course!</caption>
</panel>
<panel>
  <character name="dubya" aspect="1"/>
  <character name="lenin" aspect="faceright"/>
  <caption location="top left" fgcolor="red">And that STILL makes more sense<br/>than Dubya's presidency!</caption>
  <caption location="top right" fgcolor="blue">HEY!  I won fair and squared<br/>in many states!</caption>
  <caption location="bottom middle" font="courbi">G'NIGHT, GRACIE!!!</caption>
</panel>
