X-Men III - 10.0

Another good solid visually stunning movie. Captain Picard was as sanctimonious as ever, but showed a lot more edge than usual. Magneto, as always, rocked. I want to be Magneto when I grow up.

Had the female offspring and me in tears at the end. Go see it.

Though the effect was pretty neat, I still think they could have found a more efficient way to get to Alcatraz.

Well, one that would actually *work* anyway -- there's a reason they call it a SUSPENSION bridge, i.e., it has to be suspended from something. You can't just pick it up, breaking the pylons off, and plunk it down somewhere, and have it, you know, not SINK INTO THE FRICKIN BAY. But I have to admit, visually, it was choice.

What really pissed me off, if we're going into nitpicking, is that they should have just used the demutantizer on Jean rather than plain killing her. I know, I know, she's psychic and everything, but still. Wolverine could have at least *tried*.

So this movie did not work on a logical level in a lot of ways. But visually and emotionally it did, in spades, and I liked it a whole lot.
