I have the courage to say it!
I didn't like the new Star Wars movie. :)

i'm afraid this may characterize you as a compulsive star wars nerd...unless, of course, you disliked it because you found it utterly confusing (as i gather a few poor souls have).
i myself have not yet managed to get out to see it. whatever happened to the time i used to have?

No, no....it chatacterizes me as married to a compulsive star wars nerd, who makes me go to things that have apparently had their screen play dialogue written by Jean Claude Van Damme. In Danish. Then translated by babblefish a few times in that game to see who can make the least sense.

I applaud your courage. I was just happy to see a finish to the series which I could avoid actively hating. It didn't need to be, you know, a landmark of cinematic history. Just not totally suck. I think it succeeded admirably there.
Sigh.
In 100 years, when the copyright runs out -- or earlier, if the world wakes from the bad dream that is intellectual property law -- I look forward to the first *professional* version of the Star Wars saga, which, y'know, could really be a damn good set of movies if they weren't owned by a compulsive control freak who really shouldn't be writing or directing.

Well, see...and I have a somewhat unusual view of movie going, I've gathered. I feel that living in Manhattan, there are a ton of things I could do other than go to movies that 'don't totally suck', at $13 a pop.
So if I choose to go to a movie, that movie had better change my life. :)

I don't do anything, ever, that costs $13. Except for travel.
