Moved in, but on restricted Net access
I don't have a landline yet (the phone company says two weeks to a month, of which a week has now elapsed) so I'm on this magic cellular phone with a GPRS Internet connection -- but my bandwidth quota for the month is 300 MB. Since my mail alone will be nearly that, I'm really watching what I do, and until the DSL comes through, I'm going to be relatively scarce around here. Not that that will be any real change, but I thought y'all might like to know.
So now you know.

Two weeks to a month without our illustrious leader?
*swoon!*
Why don't I have a swooning couch, anyway?

i don't know - you really should have one by your wall of tacky jesi (in case the viewer is overcome with religious ecstacy, or something)

Well, it'll hardly be the first time; no sense getting yourselves all worked up on it.
The cellphone-Internet thing may well be Euro-only for all I know. And for the first 300MB it's quite reasonable -- 6000 forint, about $30, for a month's use at roughly 2-3 times 56K dialup speed. Quite usable. And WIRELESS. After the first 300 MB it goes to something like a penny per 10kb, which would add up pretty fast. So I'm trying to keep usage down. I'm missing my Web comics a lot, but I figure catching up on a month all at once is going to be pretty nice.

magic cellphones!
i had know idea you could do an internet connection via a cellphone.
probably my well-hidden budgetary sense, protecting me from the heart attack i would get on seeing the bill for such a thing.
