For the first time since, if my calculations are correct, early June, I have no outstanding translation work. The CD-ROM database project is done and invoiced. Techspex is happy with my progress at the moment. D-Co wants reports *now*, but I'll finish that this evening, and of course my little projects with Sanya have languished unlooked-at since July, and the folks at OTRS doubtlessly think I'm simply dead. But still -- I'm more caught up than I have been since ... since ... hell, I can't remember. Since sometime in the Twentieth, anyway.
In the last two months, I've actually gotten to the point where I could take the day off and drive up into the mountains today, not with the feeling, "screw'em, they'll have to wait," but in the knowledge that nobody that really matters to my financial well-being is mad at me.
My blood pressure is going to sink to the point where my head will swim if I stand up too fast, at this rate. I won't know what to do with myself. I might actually have time to *gulp* start on SCUMF this month! I might do Toonbots episodes! I'll finally have time to solve that whole Middle East peace process thing! And there's always Grand Unification to solve! (But my wife would really be angry if I did that.)
Anyhoo, I thought I'd toss that little pearl of happiness out. Browning expressed this:
The year's at the spring
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven --
All's right with the world!
