The Vast Greyness of Existence: A Dirge
Life flows on in a seemingly endless stream,
A murky body of water contaminated by confusion And noise
And non-toxic dehydrated childproof packaged odor sprays which seem to be an indelible part of modern existance
News journalists and pundist and such predict depressions, recessions, disaster, and more
While one is infected with ringworm and sufferring from sinuses
And the immense heat bows down on one
And one eels as if existence stretches like an endless thoroughfare
While one sits engulfed in confusion and agaony and uncertainty
The insignificant become the focal points
Proprieties are fogged in the advancing mist
Every second feels eternal
A thousand clicks and clatters and yells and bangs and screeches echo in one's ear
And true silence seems to be merely illusory
One seeks momentary relief from temporal pleasures
Which ultimately do little more than distract
They cannot placate the pain
And the overwhelming greyness looms and grows
And blessed silence continues to escape one's grasp
And so it continues on
And on
And on??
