ocraext

Is it just Al and Lenny who don't know from where the font ocraext (or possibly OCRaExt) derives it's name? Or do inquiring minds somewhere within the Toonbots sphere of influence really wanna know?

Quantity, not quality. That's the new Toonbots watchword.

It is indeed OCRaExt, but I'm lower-casing all fonts in the Toon-o-Matic, and ocraext just sounds like okra to me, and suddenly it seemed funny. It was late. But it *does* look good, don't you agree? I'm kinda pumped about the whole font thing. I've been wanting to get this done for ... well, since November or so.

I think the full name is OCR-A Extended, and I know OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition, which I'm sure means reading printed text in through a scanner directly to a text file of some format or another.

Or maybe I'm just an idiot.

Incidentally, since nobody seems to have twigged to it yet, the new capability would seem to be font selection instead of being locked into one.

BZZZT! That new capability would have been demonstrated in the *previous* toon. No, there's another and much more fundamental capability demonstrated in April 30.

But I'm gratified that someone appears to be paying attention.

I'd pay attention if I could see it...

I still have the deathly ill card yet, though.
